Our Story
“The future of film and television points south.”

ABOUT POINT SOUTH
Cinematic storytelling from script to screen — and from the field to the family archive.
Point South Productions is an Atlanta-based film and television company rooted in North Georgia. We develop and produce bold, character-driven stories with emotional impact, commercial appeal, and a clear path from idea to audience.
Founded by writer-producer Mitch Olson after relocating from Los Angeles to Georgia, Point South was built around a simple belief: great stories can come from anywhere, and Georgia has the talent, infrastructure, and creative ambition to help lead the next era of independent film and television.
Today, Point South operates across two connected lanes: original film and television production, and cinematic sports media for teams, athletes, families, and programs.
Whether we’re producing a feature film, developing a series, supporting emerging filmmakers, or capturing the season a family will never get back, the mission is the same: tell meaningful stories with care, craft, and purpose.
THE ORIGINS
Point South Productions was founded to build a stronger creative production base in the Southeast.
After years working in studio-scale film and television development, Mitch Olson shifted his focus toward independent filmmaking — where creative control, long-term collaboration, and talent development could coexist.
The goal was not just to make films. It was to help build an ecosystem.
Point South supports artists early, develops projects with discipline, and helps guide stories from script to screen while protecting both creative integrity and the capital behind the work.
That same philosophy now extends into Point South Sports Media, where professional storytelling meets youth and high school athletics. What began with one video for Mitch’s son’s team grew into a sports media arm built around memory, identity, and momentum — giving young athletes and their families the kind of cinematic keepsake usually reserved for college and professional programs.
WHAT WE DO
FILM & TELEVISION
Point South develops and produces film and television projects with strong characters, clear audiences, and commercial potential.
Our work includes independent features, scripted series development, branded content, and collaborations with filmmakers, writers, investors, and creative partners.
Recent projects include Easter, Bloody Easter and Signing Tony Raymond, which premiered at the Austin Film Festival and was released theatrically nationwide in January 2026.
SPORTS MEDIA
Point South Sports Media brings professional film production and sports storytelling to youth and high school athletics.
We create cinematic videos for teams, athletes, families, and organizations that want more than highlights — they want memories, identity, and momentum.
For parents, it’s a keepsake of a season they won’t get back.
For players, it’s a chance to see themselves like the athletes they look up to and build the kind of polished, shareable presence that matters in today’s sports culture.
For programs, it’s a brand asset that looks as competitive as they play.
OUR MISSION
Tell meaningful stories.
Bridge education and industry.
Build real pathways for the next generation of creative voices.
Prove that great film, television, and media can be made outside the traditional centers of power — with the right people, the right process, and the right story.
OUR PURPOSE
Point South exists to support artists, projects, athletes, and organizations at every level.
In film and television, that means helping stories move from script to screen with creative integrity and disciplined execution.
In sports media, that means helping families preserve the moments that move too fast to hold onto and athletes and programs looking to level-up their branding.
Across everything we do, the mandate is the same: protect the story, serve the people behind it, and create work that lasts.
